Ordering repeat prescriptions

The easiest way to order repeat prescriptions is via email:

Prescriptions for Acharacle, Strontian and Kilchoan patients can be ordered over the phone using the prescription phone line:

  • 9am - 11am - 01967 431 479

Repeat Prescription re-order slips for Morvern patients can be put into the post box outside the Surgery or handed into the Surgery.

Repeat Prescription re-order slips for Acharacle patients can be handed into the Surgery.

 

Collecting your prescription

You can usually collect your prescription from the practice 3 working days after you have ordered it.

You can collect your prescription during the hours below at your requested surgery:

  • Acharacle Surgery - Monday to Friday 8am-6pm
  • Morvern Surgery - Monday to Friday 9am-1pm
  • Strontian Surgery -Monday 2.30pm-4.30pm, Wednesday and Friday 9am-11am
  • Kilchoan Surgery - Tuesday and Thursday 9.30am-11.30am

Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine please speak to Practice staff in the first instance. Please note we are a dispensing GP Practice and as such cannot sell over the counter medication.

Pharmacies can answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

 

Medication reviews

If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. We will be in touch when you need to come in for a review.

What to do with old medicines

You can take any unused medications in to the surgery for disposal. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.

About pharmacists

As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:

  • coughs
  • colds
  • sore throats
  • tummy trouble
  • aches and pains

They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.

Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.

Most pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard.
